Kung Hei Fat Choi! Happy Lunar New Year!

The on-campus students have been immersed in the Lunar New Year celebrations recently. We celebrated with a traditional new year fire cracker parade and then a demonstration of Chinese dancing on level 1.

Later in the day a group visited the Chinese Friendship Gardens in Darling Harbour which was very peaceful and like a mini-Chinese world- we took a guided tour and wrote wishes for the Lunar New Year. We were surprised by a visit from the Chinese Emperor himself, although he reminded us of someone we knew.

Afterwards we had and Asian lunch together in one of the food courts in Chinatown.

The Chinese gardens are just $3 for students (show your ID card) but during the New Year celebrations it is just a gold coin donation for everyone!
